Oil on Canvas , 11x14 © 2008 Karin H. Leonard ~~~ Painted on a sunny winter day, on location at Pajaro Dunes Lagoon in Watsonville. During winter, an abundance of migratory birds stop off in this lagoon for a snack or a brief Holiday. I was so intrigued by these beautiful smow white geese, that I positioned my easle as close as I could without disturbing their late afternoon leisure. Before I knew it - literally, because I became so absorbed in painting - my sneakers got soaked by the marsh I stood on. Yep, the hazards of plein air painting are plenty, but it is oh so worth every minute of discomfort!
